Weston sleeps

For the records...at 11 weeks old, Weston slept the whole night last night! From 7:30pm until 6am!! Hallelujah!

It could have just been a lucky night but here's to hoping its a new routine!

He has only been taking short 30 min cat naps during the day though. But I'll take that for sure if it means full nights of sleep!

And it makes me happy to see that even   though his tummy is still a mess and I can't figure out why, he is able to sleep peacefully. He is such a sweet baby!

Funnies

Sierra: "it was so fast! Like boom-shakalaka!"
----------------
Reid answers "negative" instead of "no" every time you ask him a question. It's pretty funny!

-----------------
The backseat conversation...
R: "when I'm a teenager and still part of your family, can you teach me to drive?"
Me: "you will always be part of our family, no matter how old you are"
S: "yeah Reid, when you're a teenager you still live at home and then when you're 20, you leave home and go find a husband or a wife"

----------------

Reid: "isn't this freakin fun?!"
(He picks up on everything Kyle says!!!)

----------------
Sierra: "Reid, you get three, ok? Come on!"

Reid: "roger that"

Reid's confidence

I just had a realization ... Reid doesn't ask the common toddler "why" questions. Or many questions at all.

Oh, why, you ask?

Because he makes (incorrect) confident statements about things as if he knows everything. And then when I correct him, he nods and says "yeah, I already knew that".

...this is JUST like Kyle!!! Haha

Like father, like son :)

Here are some examples:

Me- "that car in front of us stinks!"
Reid- "that's because the stinky rain is coming out of it"
Me- "it's probably the gas (exhaust)"
Reid- "or it's really the stinky rain coming out of it"

-------------------------
Reid, to me : "you've never seen a snake"

Me: "um, yes, actually I have"

Reid: "but not a real one"

Me: "yes, Reid, I have seen a real snake"

(Silence)
_________------------

Oh, and the other day, in all seriousness, he said he was smarter than Kyle.

And that he is faster than me.

When Sierra asks me a question, I answer it and then Reid says "I already knew that". He says it all the time!

Maybe this will serve him well one day?! Or maybe he'll really have to work on humility! ;-)

Jokes

Reid: knock knock
Me: who's there?
R: Mrs.Potato Head
Me: Mrs. Potato Head who?
R: You're a chatterbox!

-----------

Sierra: knock knock
Me: who's there?
S: Mrs. Mrs. Head
Me: Mrs. Mrs. Head who?
S: Aren't you glad I didn't say cheesy head?!

Hmmm... we still need some work on our jokes. They crack up at the ones they make up. But then I tell them real jokes and they just state at me with a forced smile. Ha!

Sierra's first letter

Sierra has been dying to have her school friends (girls only, of course) over to play and meet her baby brother. She asks me all the time to call their mommies. She's been so patient - but it's been so chaotic and I'm so tired from 3, it's been hard to imagine having more than that in our house.

So this weekend she decided to take matters into her own hands (Daddy loves that leadership initiative!) and write letters to take to school! She decided what she wanted to say and (from across the room) I helped her sound out the words to spell them. Then she copied it and wrote one for each girl. We delivered them to their cubbies at school today.

So sweet and so precious! She is soooo proud to be a big sister!! And her handwriting is getting better and better!

Reid is 3 and a half

This boy makes me laugh out loud every single day. He is his own little person and just so goofy and funny! The way he walks, dances, the faces he makes, the giggles, the silly made up words, the constant creativity in how he plays. I could not love him more.

And his hugs! He randomly, unprompted gives me several hugs a day. And they are big long squeeze hugs. Often with an "I love you Mommy" and a sweet grin. It melts my heart every time.

I can't believe he's 3 1/2 already!

I love you Reid man!!

Big sister and Big brother

I am sooooo thankful that Sierra and Reid have LOVED Weston from the very first time they saw him. They want to hold him all the time!! Sometimes they touch a little too much! :-/ They always want to know where he is, what he's doing, what he's trying to say/tell us when he cries. They move stools around the house to watch me change his diaper, his clothes, feed him...everything. Sierra of course likes to pick out what he is going to wear. If she sees him wearing something new, she always says "oh Baby Weston you look so handsome" or "you look so cute in that outfit Baby Weston."

Sierra talks to him in this sweet soft high pitch voice and I love it. She truly is SO GOOD with him!! If he is in the swing and starts crying, she immediately drops what she's doing, says "I'll handle this". She goes to him saying "it's ok, sissy is here", talks to him, sings to him, puts the paci in his mouth and has even put him back to sleep several times all on her own!!!

First thing in the morning they both go looking for him and anytime they leave the house, they have to first give Baby Weston a hug and kiss. It's very sweet. If he is sleeping, Sierra says "Mommy will you please give Baby Weston a hug and kiss for me when he wakes up".

When he cries, Sierra usually says "oh! He wants his big sister". One day she got home from school and asked me if he had cried for her all day.

I can't wait to see how each of their relationships will grow as he gets older :)
