to Lala's house she goes...
although thankfully it's only about a 20 minute drive down the highway in reality!
my mom has been helping out with Sierra sooooooooooo much the last couple of weeks - taking her out to do fun things, keeping her over night, playing at her house, basically just getting her out of the house so she doesn't go stir crazy watching me nurse Reid all day long. it's been helpful for Sierra and for me - to get an extra nap or two in and to get through this newborn transition with a bit more peace and quiet in the house.
...but boy do i really miss that little girl when she's not here!!!
today she looked like such a big girl leaving the house with Lala. i wish i had taken a picture. she had her hair in a pony tail, dressed like a little lady in her cute dress and sandals, and with a little backpack on! Lala opened the front door and Sierra walked out and without even turning around to see me said "bye Mommy" (thankfully i had already gotten a hug and kiss from her). break my heart, she is growing up so fast! it felt like she was leaving for her first day of school or some big event like that.
i am SO proud of that little girl!
(p.s.- i promise to get some pictures and posts of Reid up here soon, but time on the computer is limited these days and blogger won't let me upload photos from my phone - where i'm writing posts while i nurse!)

Little parrot and sentences
Sierra is at that stage where she repeats everything she hears! A lot of times she repeats you in the moment, right after you say something. But you can tell she's very attentive and always listening because a lot of times she will say something we said long afterwards... And surpringly it's usually in context.
Today she and I were outside blowing bubbles on the deck. Intold her we needed to get her shoes from inside if she wanted to play in the grass. So she goes to the door, looks at Kyle (who is on the couch) through the window and starts yelling "hey babe! Hey babe!" He and I just kept laughing. She's hilarious
On the subject of talking, I've noticed she is starting to use some complete sentences! They're short, but complete.
"Baby Reid eat more. Sessah eat more too."
"Mommy get it."
"Daddy fix it."
And I just started hearing her use the first person a few times today - instead of referring to herself as "Sesah", she said "I".
oh sweet girl, you are growing up too fast!!!!

Identical Twin Daddy
When I was pregnant with Sierra I thought about whether she would be able to tell her Daddy apart from his identical twin brother.
Since day 1 she has never gotten them confused, not even in pictures...until yesterday...
We were looking at family pictures on the fridge and there's one of Brooke(Ayi) Erick (Shu Shu), Kyle (Daddy) and me - in that order - at Stu and Cat's wedding. As I pointed to each one, this is what she said:
"Ayi, Shu Shu, another Shu Shu"
I just started laughing and told her that was Daddy but he does look just like Shu Shu! She looked back at the photo and then gave me this puzzled look and moved on to the next one.
So precious! To her credit they do look a lot alike in that picture - both wearing white shirts and a tie; similar hair cuts...
It was priceless :)

Sierra meeting Reid for the first time. She was pointing out his ears, nose, hat, eyes closed...and then she looked for his tail! heehee, so cute!
She is going to be a great big sister! She's sooo curious about her baby brother and wants to know where he is at all times!
He is already sooo loved! We are so thankful!
...more pics to come once I clear some space on the computer!

help please
Sierra has learned to say "help please" when she needs us to help her and it's really cut down on her frustration cries
Recently at dinner the sun comes through the window right towards her face and we hadn't noticed. She just started saying "help please" over and over and after we asked what she needed help with, she squinted her eyes and pointed to the window. Kyle closed the blinds and she smiled!
Now she says it at every dinner and now we know what she's asking for - and she's starting to say "close blinds".
:)
