our bathing beauties: first sibling bath

we had no idea how this was going to go...could have gone either way...and it. was. precious.

Sierra was laughing before Reid even got in the tub. And as soon as we dropped him in, she started "washing" him with her hand and "soap". She LOVED "washing baby Reid's body"! and Reid just giggled and giggled! I'll put the video up soon.

Little rascal

Reid seems to be looking for trouble lately - pulling plugs from outlets, putting small objects in his mouth (bandaid, rubber part of door stopper, stickers, etc), getting into the dishwasher and on and on...

he is really keeping me on my toes!!!

Bedtime lullaby

Ever since Reid was a few months old, I have a bedtime/naptime routine of holding him in my arms, swaying and singing "Jesus Loves Me". I did this with Sierra too until she was too big and then I sang to her while she lay in her crib...

Until about a month or two ago...

Then she started asking me to hold and swing/rock her too and she rests her head on me. I am cherishing this because soon she really will be too big for me to hold. She asked me to sing "Jesus loves me this I know". Then she started requesting other songs. "little Lord Jesus lay down His sweet head" (Away in a manger) was a sweet one.

... Then she wanted "Wheels on a bus go round and round" for about a week. And most recently, "banana banana song". You know, "Sierra Sierra Bo-beara, banana-nana fo-ferra, me-my-mo-merra, Sierra". Yes, it's hilarious. Such a sweet moment as she lays her head on my chest and I hold her. And sing the banana-nana song.

She is a character!

Animal daycare

Group nap :)

Sierra put all the animals and dolls to sleep and then wanted me to tuck her in. She was so sweet and gentle tucking them in

Rainy day fun

fun with pipe cleaners

doesn't she look so grown up!? (well, minus the fact she is wearing pipe cleaner glasses and a bib - with 3 teeth coming in she is soaking 2-3 shirts a day!!!)

Daddy thinks she looks like a librarian :)

Diaper Swiper

...in action!

He made a loop around the house, hitting every room downstairs...with the stray diaper he found on the ground

and was so happy :)

Sierra speak...I mean, song

this girl looooooves to sing! She is learning new songs like crazy and sings them all the time- in bed, in public, while eating, to get Reid to stop crying, in the car, all day! She sure keeps me entertained!

* Her favorite songs are: Jesus Loves Me, Wheels on the Bus (adding lots of animal verses), ABC's, Joy Joy Joy Joy, I Love You (Barney song), Happy Birthday, Hallelujah, Oh my Darling ("Oh my Dah-ying), Away in a Manger, Have Patience

* She has recently started humming too - she'll hum the perfect tune to songs she knows. And now she is making up words to songs! It's so funny!

* when I read her nursery rhymes book, she makes me sing each one instead of reading them. I'm so glad no one else can hear me, haha! If I tell her I don't know how to sing that one, she says "Mommy, can you twy?!" in such a sweet voice, I give it my best :)

* today in the car she sang this, to the tune of the Barney song "We love Mommy, we love Mommy, we love Mooooomy thiiiiis much...". It made my whole day :)

* she has long names for the titles of some songs, "can you sing me the 'Jesus Loves Me This I Know' song?" and "let's sing "A, B, C, D, E, F, G song!"

Babbles

Reid has been saying "dadadada", "bababa" and "ah-ta, ah-ta" for awhile now...

and today he said "mum, mum, mum" :)

baby babbles are such sweet sounds!

Reid's favorite "toys"

... socks, diapers (clean or dirty), and paper (wipes, napkins and especially tissues)

he loves to "eat" them, carries them around while he crawls around the house and will crawl his absolute fastest when he spots one across the room!

we nicknamed him the "Diaper Swiper"
:)

Oh, and he also loves closing doors!!
