Easter egg hunt

In our neighborhood - these little guys had a blast!!!!!!!

Sierra would spot a far away egg and sprint for it (sometimes the bigger kids got there first but she was a great sport about it!).

Reid would see an egg, point to it and yell "I see one!", "there's another one!", "I found more eggs!". He did great, and found 12 eggs for his basket :)

What a fun neighborhood tradition!

Spring flowers

Beautiful!

The picture with the hug and silly face totally captures Sierra's personality! She loves to be goofy!!! But she is sweet with her brother (most of the time) too!

Sunblock

The other day, the sun was in Reid's eyes....but he was quiet. I turned around and saw this! Very resourceful!

...we've come a long way. He used to whine, cry and rub his eyes until the sun wasn't shining in his window.

T-shirts

My laundry helpers ended up wearing the clean clothes!

They thought this was hilarious! They laughed for 10 minutes straight! Then went and stood by the door (while holding hands) by the door, do excited for Daddy to come home and show him!

Funnies

Reid...

(pointing), says "those are your shoes. These are my shoes. They're cool."

"I have a ant bite. From a ladybug."

Sierra...
As I was closing her bedroom door at naptime, I said "I love you." and she replies "I love you too. I hope you don't see any dragons!". Haha, SO random!

While opening her Easter basket, she grabs a handful of the green "straw" and excitedly says "I got hay!!!". Sweet girl, is a great present opener - she is so excited and genuinely says "thank you for getting me _______" for each little gift.

Me: Sierra, please whisper, your brother is sleeping.
Sierra (in a normal, non-whisper): I can't whisper. I lost my whisper voice. It left my body. Another day when I was eating, I opened my mouth to eat and my whisper voice just came out! It was so sneaky! I think it's outside in the garden. We'll have to go look for it later.

Daddy: I found something in the toilet. It looks like you went potty by yourself and forgot to flush. Did you wipe?
Sierra: well, I went potty and I couldnt reach the toilet paper. It was too far away. I tried to reach it (stretches out her arm to demonstrate), but I almost fell into the toilet! So...I just decided to skip it.

1-13

Reid just counted from 1-13 and only skipped "4"...all on his own! He was spinning around and counting ... and then stopped, wobbled and giggled saying "I'm dizzy, heehee!"

Reid's ABC's

I had no idea Reid knew most of his ABC's until one day last week I asked him to sing it...and he did! He usually clams up when the camera comes out, but I finally got a pretty good video. At his best (i.e. when big sis isn't "helping" in the background), he says "A, B, C, D, E, F, G...LMNOP, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X, Y and Z"

:)

Sierra's drawings

She did this all on her own! She drew a self portrait and then wrote her name on the back. In case you can't tell, she was very proud of herself :)

...then she drew a picture of Reid (very similar but with short hair) and wrote his name on the back.

Love this development stage :$

Orange Obsession

This kid is still obsessed with all things orange!

His sister picked an orange paper for him because she knows it's his favorite. And he only used orange crayon and orange dot paint...on the orange paper.

Creative, eh?!

To sleep or not to sleep

Sierra hasn't napped for months. Only when she's sick does she even close her eyes. But she has rest time for an hour and a half every afternoon. She usually plays with her stuffed animals, dolls, puzzles, books and dresses/undresses herself.

2 days in a row this past week it was strangely quiet in her room and I found her like this...

Precious girl!

S and R Funnies

Reid:
* every night at bedtime he requests that we sing 2 songs- "Happy Birthday Auntie Meli" and "Reindeer song" (as in Rudolph)
* every time we talk about a "deer", Reid repeats it saying "reindeer". to him they are one in the same
* the last few days he has called me "princess beauty mommy" :)
* often while eating, he holds up a piece of food and says "this is a bad guy!" ...and then eats it
* when I turn on Reid's lamp in the morning he covers his eyes and says "sunny!"
* he says "yes" with about 3 syllables for the "s" = "yessssss"

----------------
Sierra:
* I told her I was going to dinner with other Mommies for a Mommy date and she said "oh! To talk about Jesus?!"
* I stubbed my toe pretty hard and she ran up to me saying "it's ok mommy, God can heal you"
* she heard Poppa come in the door and yelled "we're in here, Poppa sweetheart!"
* sometimes for the past tense of "break" she says "brewk", rhyming with stew. i.e. "oh no! The crayon just brewk!" :)

Daddy is so fun

That hike was on a very chilly morning, down the hill behind Poppa and Lala's house. They were ready for their adventure with Daddy - binoculars, snacks and watching for wildlife. So fun!

They were troopers and had a blast! Sierra was pretty disappointed they didn't see any wild animals, but they did see ants, a big spider and lots of "reindeer poop", as Reid calls it.

Dance class

Sierra started a dance class a few weeks ago. It's her first time to do any kind of organized activity. It has taken some warming up to but she loves it!!!!

An hour and a half long (ballet, tap and gymnastics tumbling), 3 girls (Sierra is the youngest and the other two are almost 5), great exercise and coordination/balance practice.

I can't get over how cute she is in her leotard!!! So precious!!! She's not currently the most graceful or coordinated, but is having a great time and learning a lot :)

Reid and I stay to watch and he is captivated by the music and the big girls. It's been fun to have that time with Sierra's friend Gracie and for her mommy and little brother to hang out with us in the waiting area.

Wheels

First time on a scooter (3 wheels) and Reid picked it up right away. He had great balance and loved it so much he did NOT want to take turns!
