Gu = BFF

Sierra definitely has a BFF. I put several different stuffed animals in her crib when she was younger and she bonded with one more than the others (although she does love all of them and gives them frequent hugs).

We have always referred to this little bear as Osito, for "little bear" in Spanish. Sierra knows exactly who we're talking about, but she prefers to call him (and every other bear - real, drawing, etc.) "Gu".

no clue where that came from, but Gu is her BFF!

in the past few weeks she has been really into dressing Gu and putting diapers on and off him. for months she has been sharing her water and milk with him, but now we have trouble getting her dressed and out the door because she wants her clothes and shoes to go on Gu. it's actually quite hilarious, but can add some time to getting ready now that i am often dressing 2 kids!

another much bigger bear (also Gu), can be found most days in just a diaper - he is a little too big to fit in Sierra's clothes!

pigtails!!!!

i am soooo excited that Sierra's hair is getting longer and we've been able to sport some very tiny pigtails in the last week! she also seems to be getting some curls/waves in the back. she is so cute and so sweet!!!

Converse

after an unsuccessful search in nashville for some baby converse shoes, i found a pair at my current favorite resale shop close to home!! and they were WAY cheaper than a new pair and look brand new!

i just can't get enough of them - sierra looks so adorable wearing them!!! although with all the lacing and unlacing, i can't guarantee that they will be the shoe of choice most days - especially when we're rushing out the door and sierra gives me only 5 seconds of being still to get both shoes on her!!

you've gotta see this...

 don't you just want to squeeze those legs?!?!?! that's one of the best parts of my day  :)

a milestone - the church nursery

it was a miracle...

we dropped Sierra off at the nursery at church yesterday and not only did she NOT cry (first time ever!!), but she reached out her arms for the nursery lady!!!!!

whew, what an amazing feeling that was for us as parents! we hope that this continues every week! maybe it helped that we talked about getting to play (a new word of hers) as we walked up? maybe she has bonded with the nice lady who is there every week? maybe she knows and trusts that we are coming back for her? maybe she is growing up?!!!

i'm such a big girl, look what i can do...

feed myself with a spoon, getting most of it in my mouth!

i can drive! (with the help of daddy's long legs, of course)

again, very proud of myself...(do we see a pattern here??!)

help hang (dry) clothes on the drying rack (not sure how the high chair helped, but she pushed it over while hanging the laundry)

wear daddy's boots!

sit in the camping chair all by myself!

pull my singing bug toy (finally! now mommy gets a break from always pulling)

wear mommy's sunglasses! oh wait, does picking my nose take away my credibility for being a big girl?!?!

mommy likes to think i'm still her little baby, but i am so excited to learn new things every day!

It's a .....

BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

even though we both "felt" like we were going to have a boy, it's still hard to believe. everything we've done in the last year and a half has been so girly, it's hard to imagine life with a little boy around here. but we are THRILLED!

we feel very blessed to have one of each! sierra is still super super attracted/obsessed with babies and super super sweet with her animals/babies, so we know she'll be a GREAT big sis!!

new adventures ahead for us!! exciting times :)
