Out of nowhere this week, Reid developed a serious attachment (I.e. obsession) to his puppy.
He asks for puppy to get out of the crib with him and hugs and holds it all day long.
If he can't see puppy he frantically says "puppy? Puppy? Puppy? ... (where) aaaare youuuu?" and as soon as he finds it his face lights up, "Puppyyyy!!!".
Here he is hugging his puppy and saying "teese" for the camera:

Sierra says
Me, talking to myself about being forgetful: Where's my head?
S: Your head? It's right there! It was never been gone mommy. We have our heads for a long time!
------------------
After thanking God for our food, Sierra said "But God didn't say 'You're welcome'!"
---------------------
Me: it sounds like you need to blow your nose, Sweetie.
S: Nooo, I don't. We don't do that today, on Monday. I'll blow my nose on Saturday.
--------------------
At bedtime: "Mommy, will you lay with me for just three weeks?"

Oh, Reid!
The things that make Reid, Reid...
* grabbing all things orange
* about 90% of the time you can find him holding something in each hand. Once he has "claimed" his two items, he doesn't let go - even for as long as an hour!!!
* walking backwards at least 10 steps before sitting down somewhere
* extending his neck to get in your face until you look him in the eyes when he's trying to tell you something. Eye contact is really important to him! He will often put his hand on your cheek and physically turn your face towards him!
* fascination with toes. He loves to put things between his toes - crackers, small toys, etc. Today he put stickers all over my toes!
* his extremely high pitch squeals (copied exactly from his big sis)
* putting things in holes - right now he likes to put Mr. Potato head pieces into the straws/holes in his sippy cups
* social (not shy) personality that's coming out - in public places he says "Hi" to everyone he sees (some of whom don't hear him bc they are not even close to us) and often surprises people who weren't even looking up
* his HUGS and cuddles are the best!!!! He often puts his head on my shoulder or chest when i hold him. He is much more cuddly than Sierra ever was and we are treasuring it bc I know as a boy that this will not last long
* repeating EVERY single word we say, especially whatever Sierra says - the good and the bad :/

Sierra says...
* walking from school to the car, Sierra was pushing Reid's stroller and ran over my foot: Me: "ouch! Be careful, you just ran over my foot." Sierra: "It's ok Mommy. It will be better actually in 4 minutes. It's ok."
* looking at a book, "Oh my gosh! The owl's name is ---! That's a silly name! Oh my gosh! Heeheehee!"
* Daddy was getting her ready for bed and she said "Hey Daddy, do you wanna hang out? Do you want to do that Daddy? Let's hang out!"
* Sierra: "ouch, my leg hurts" (in a whiny voice, while doing nothing that would have hurt her leg)
Daddy: "how can we make your leg feel better?"
Sierra: "You can sing a song to it"

she hardly stops to breathe!
Sierra has always been a talker, but somehow she seems to have stepped it up a level. She literally is talking EVERY second that she is awake...and even when she's supposed to be sleeping!
...she is currently in her room (not in her bed taking a nap, like she should be), sitting on the floor reading book after book after book to all of her animals. first she lined them all up in her bed and was "teaching" them. she kept saying "ok, today we are going to learn about...puppies." And then I saw her pretending to pass things out to each animal. She kept rearranging them and showing them more things. She is sitting in a spot where I can't see her in the monitor anymore, but oh, I can still hear her! She stops talking only to take a breath...and then keeps going. Now she's scolding someone. Haha! She's hilarious. Ok, now she's singing to them. I wish I could record this :)
While I really wish she was napping, I love to listen to her play by herself...and she IS following the rule - do not come out of your room until Mommy gets you at the end of nap time. At least she's staying in her room.
After staying with my parents for a few days with the kids, my Dad made the comment "I don't think a single thought passes through her mind that she doesn't say out loud."....SO TRUE!
I love my talkative, social, hilarious, sweet, spirited little girl!!!

"yuh you"
Reid has started saying "yuh you" after we say "I love you". It makes me smile so big, every single time. And then he smiles too.

We are so thankful for rain!
...and someone was pretty excited to break out her umbrella, after so long!
